I have never hjad much luck with Huggies brand either. My friend likes them, but we always prefered pampers. When I was a few months into diapering my first child I bought some Sam's Club (Member's Mark) brand diapers to try them out. I LOVED THEM and still do even though they have gone up in price a bit.

One time after using the Sam's Club diapers for awhile I picked up some pampers because I did not have time to run to Sam's. While I still like Pampers as far as leakage control goes, I did not realize that there is an extra chemical smell associated with the pampers, it would even make the smell of pee worse when your child goes, I probably would not have noticed if I had never not used them for awhile.

Anyway, I tried Sam's pull ups when the time came and I was just as happy with them as I was with the diapers. I do not know where they are on the price scale compared to other brands these days, but I would compare them and give them a try.

As far as the spot on your baby's tummy goes...some kids are just very sensitive to anything scratchy , I know I was as a child. If other brands do not help, maybe you can place a small bit of toilet paper or soft fabric under the edge to protect their belly.

Good Luck!

I have disliked Huggies since my little boy was born!! They always leak and cause rashes. I wish Luvs had a pullup-they are my favorites-no problem at all!!. When I use pullups, I use Pampers and Walgreens brand. I got the Walgreens pullups for free when they had a special deal on them. But I like them better than the pullups.

I thought maybe latex allergy, but it's just the ONE spot. If she had a ring round her waist & legs I'd be more inclined to think allergy. But I started buying latex-free bandaids just in case. And except nap-time & bedtime she'll be in underwear from now on, so hopefully we won't even need to worry about pull-ups anymore. Thanks for thinking about that, though. :)

Any chance it's a latex allergy? My daughter used to get blisters around the legs of her diapers cause it was a latex allergy. Just a though..

I don't use pull-ups just because they are too much like diapers to me, and I think it makes it tougher for the kids to be fully trained.

Goodluck!

Well, we used to use T@rget brand, I just haven't been to that store recently to get more. My MIL uses P@mpers brand, but I never really looked at their design to see what those look like. And I hate W@l-m@rt's version, they don't have the "velcro" stuff like the others do, which makes it easier to take them off w/out a huge mess if they're poopy. We use diapers for bedtime, but are about to run out. At this rate I may just buy more bags of those for bedtime - I use 7th Gen for diapers.
